Feeding Your Puppy 4 times a day until 4 months old, then 3 times a day until 1 year old, then go to either two separate meals a day or let them graze during the day on a good single protein natural kibble and have a good dinner of Fresh Pet, or Raw feeding, or the kibble you used earlier with toppings. I use bone broth, shredded boiled chicken with veggies or ground turkey or hamburger. Twice a week give organ meat. Peeled, deveined Beef Liver (usually in frozen meats) or chicken hearts is what I usually use. I also add a dropper full of Tailly’s organic beef collagen. If you are going to feed grain free kibble, you need to add Taurine to your dog’s food.
Water is Crucial You must, at all times, have fresh, clean water available to your puppy. Dehydration is deadly in young puppies. That is why diarrhea is so serious - because it dehydrates the puppies - thickening the blood and making the body work harder to keep the puppy alive. One of the best things to give a puppy with loose stools or diarrhea is packed pumpkin. Just add 1 scoop to their meals for ailments relating to changing diet, stress, travel - but if you see bloody, watery diarrhea go straight to the vet. I use dried pumpkin from Amazon. I look for a highly rated brand.

Something very new is the use of CBD oil for pets. This relieves anxiety, removes inflammation in the body which in turn lowers pain levels. I am currently using it on my two older pets and I'm seeing some good results. It is a Cannibis/Hemp based product but without the THC component. I'm seeing my old girl (13) stand up on her hind legs again for dinner and Linas (14) is going up and down the stairs by himself again. I also give it for extended travel and heavily crowded venues like dog shows. It doesn’t make them sleepy, it just lowers the levels of anxiety they can get, especially at dog shows, around fireworks and loud music like a parade.
